What worlds would you move to be with your soulmate?
NYC, A BEAUTIFUL PAINTER, AND A DIMENSION-TRAVELLING PROFESSOR COLLIDE IN THIS YEAR’S MOST CHARMING BITTERSWEET ROM-COM
Just in time for Valentine’s Day comes The Love Of My (Other) Life [Parvati Press], this year’s most charming – and bittersweet – romantic comedy novella.
The latest offering from critically acclaimed author and Yale and Columbia graduate Traci L. Slatton, The Love Of My (Other) Life follows the beguiling and uncompromising Tessa Barnum, a 30-something would-be painter struggling to find her rightful place in the city that never sleeps: the ever-bustling, always-magical backdrop of New York City.
When she is suddenly faced with Brian Tennyson behind every corner – a disheveled yet devilishly handsome man who, out of virtually nowhere, claims to not only be a Yale physics professor who has uncovered a gap in the time-space continuum, but also her husband in an alternate universe (!)– Tessa finds herself on a rollercoaster ride the likes of which she never in her wildest dreams imagined she would have to be prepared for.
A touching and immersive portrait of a young woman reconciling her passions, convictions and realities with an impossible love story unfolding around her, The Love Of My (Other) Life is a surprising, funny and engrossing addition to any romance lover’s bookshelf, digital or otherwise.
Traci on the inspriation behind The Love Of My Other Life
“I wrote this novel for the hopeful romantic in all of us,” says Slatton. “I was inspired by daydreaming, really. I imagined what it would be like if a scruffy man showed up on my doorstep out of the blue one day, claiming to be my soulmate – albeit in a parallel world – and then it turned out he really was! But he couldn’t stay. Tessa is a woman with her own passion and her own center, but she’s lost her way. She’s been looking for Brian her entire life and didn’t even know it.”

Hello Tessa and Brian, welcome to Nightstand Novels…we are so glad to have you join us today. Tessa, what was it about Brian that made you think he was harmless. Why didn’t you immediately go running for the hills…. well you did eventually, but not immediately…why?

Did you feel any sense of familiarity when you two first met?

Yes,a whole lot of hot water from what I’ve read, Brian…what were you thinking when you first saw Tessa ?

Did you have a plan when you decided to test out your machine? Did you even think that it would work?

Your offer is very tempting but I’m too much of a chicken to take you up on it… you genius you, but what if you weren’t able to find Tessa? What if she wanted nothing to do with you and meant it? What if she called the police or worse.. the Psychiatric Hospital?

Tessa, wasn’t there just a teeny part of you that believed Brian right away? We usually don’t get romantic with “strange, crazy people” but you did…tell me about that?

No, I don’t think you’re weird at all, maybe a tad bit lonely yes, but not weird. Brian..was a part of you secretly hoping to get lucky with Tessa?

“Your destiny to make love to Tessa…sounds beautiful. Were you expecting Tessa to be exactly like YOUR Tessa…or being the “brainiac” that you are…did you know what to expect?

As for my being a physicist, I wish!! but since you enjoyed that question, here’s another one for you, This has been bugging me ever since I read it.. why were your shoes mismatched…did you put them on that way or did you have to find something quick once you landed?

That’s True, but inquiring minds still want to know about those shoes but I’ll move on for now. So Tessa, at what point did you start to believe that Brian was telling the truth, was it at Dr. Tennyson’s lecture, or was it when HIS Tessa made an appearance

Had you fallen in love with Brian..or was it the idea that he was so loving that you loved?

Hot huh? I really wanted you two to find a way to end up together but after you, Brian had a chance to meet with YOUR Tessa it seems that things changed. You looked at Tessa as more of a sister or friend and it seemed that you no longer wanted to be with her..what happened …. and Tessa, how did his immediate disinterest make you feel?

How did it feel coming face to face with yourself? Were you impressed? and Tessa what did you think when you saw the two together. Were you nervous when they started their debate?
Tessa: Oh, jeez, I was petrified! There was no telling what was going to happen!

Petrified? I was secretly hoping they would figure it out right then and there. lol Brian you said you were going to destroy your machine…did you destroy it or are you maybe planning a second trip?

Tessa, readers want to know what’s happened since YOUR Brian showed up at your gallery showing? Can you give us a hint as to what’s been going on with you two..are you dating? engaged? married? or will we have to wait for the sequel?

Obviously not nearly enough x’s for all of that “torridness” and now my curiosity is piqued but I’ll refrain from putting you on the spot and move on to Brian. Any other inventions you’re working on? I know you are curious as to what Tessa and her Brian have been up to…have you come up with any way for you two to keep in touch or are you ready to move on having accomplished what you set out to do?

Hmmmm…I sense a hint of things to come. If you could have a do over what things would you do differently if any?

Any regrets for either of you?

I just bet he is!!! Brian, nerdy geeky techie kind of guy, not bad on the eyes with a fit bod , sexy abs and can put it down, so to speak, in the bedroom and Tessa, free-spirited, spur of the moment, bleeding heart with no focus or drive content to feel sorry for herself after losing love but has a great ass… Did your author get it right about you both?
As far as asses go, it’s “Meh” just kidding, it’s pretty nice… Any parting words you want to leave with our readers?

Words to live by, Thank You both for stopping by!
