Book Blurb
She is pierced, dyed and tattooed born on the wrong side of the tracks. He is a traditional white knight born of the proverbial silver spoon. Their meeting was an accident, the fact that they became even the most tentative of friends, an anomaly. The only real thing they had in common… chemistry. Lots of chemistry. Unfortunately, that wasn’t enough and Gia knew it. Now, if only she could convince her body…

Josh had always walked the line, lived the life he was expected to live. He had, by all accounts, the perfect life; a corporate lawyer, a beautiful home, a family empire to run, and the perfect fiancee. He was well on his way. The only question he had… was that really where he wanted to go? Plagued by dreams, Josh fought all his natural instincts, denying not only what he truly wanted but who he was deep down inside. Until one crazy night when he gave in to his desires…

Could these two polar opposites have more in common than even they realize?

Josh has always willingly walked the path his parents set for him despite his own dreams and desires. He even has the perfect fiance’, Deb… beautiful, blonde, and bred who fits in wonderfully with the family image. Josh has everything he could ever want. The only problem is that the beauty who invades his dreams at night is NOT his fiance’.

Gia, the tattooed, and pierced hellion from the wrong side of the tracks prides herself on being different. She’s wild and free on the outside but on the inside she has insecurities just like anyone else. She knows Josh is hot, she’s been lusting after him since they first met but he belongs to her friend. Will she be able to keep her distance before they both get burned?

Hidden Depths is a well-written, sexy tale that gives new meaning to the old adage,”Opposites Attract” or better yet, “Don’t Judge a Book By Its Cover”. I really enjoyed this book. Josh, the straight-laced (at least on the outside), down to earth, good guy drawn to the proverbial “Bad Girl” Gia.

I absolutely fell in Love with Josh. The way he decided to to go for what he wanted and let it all hang out (so to speak) after years of hiding his “wild and kinky” side from others had me all but cheering for him. After a momentary lapse, he did the right thing by his fiance’ thus enabling him to go after who he really wanted.

Gia, on the other hand, was Bad by appearances only. she was actually a sweetheart with more hang-ups tham the straight laced Josh or “Lawyer boy” as she affectionately called him. I found her inner struggle, while understandable, a bit nerve wracking. She’s supposedly, a free-spirited, wild-child, live on the edge, “take me as I am” type of woman but she is on the verge of ruining the best thing that has ever happened to her because of her own insecurities and issues. Had she had a guilty conscience because Josh belonged to her friend, I would be a bit more forgiving but her issues are really not issues at all and apparently, judging by her behavior, not issue enough to make her stay away from Josh altogether.

The chemistry between Josh and Gia was perfect and made the book all the more better. Author Aubrianna Hunter did a wonderful job in building up the undeniable attraction between the two. I loved their good natured ribbing and snarky public relationship and their “can’t stay away from you, rip your panties off” relationship that they reserved for private moments. Although initially, I didn’t get that sizzling and passionate vibe from them, they managed to heat it up quite a bit and ignite a few sparks of their own when they finally gave in to their desires.

The supporting cast of characters were great. I loved their close knit group of friends and the relationship and camaraderie they all shared with each other. Josh’s friend knew all his secrets that he thought he was keeping well-hidden..including the relationship he was having with Gia.The type of friends we all should have..you know, the type that actually get to know the real you! The one character I didn’t fully understand was Deb. She had more of a reaction to Josh having a tattoo than she did to him calling off the engagement and worse yet, finding out it was because of her friend. I mean even if she did notice that all was not well in the relationship…finding out that he was ending it because he was in love with her good friend should warrant at least a good slapping if not a few choice curse words, a thorough butt kicking and name calling to both parties involved. The only exception was if she had her own piece of man-candy on the side but even then, one can’t help but wonder had Josh not called the engagement off would she have allowed herself to be in a loveless marriage? I think in this instance a bit of a back story is needed to help us fully understand the relationship between Josh and Deb up until he deiced to go for her friend. I need to know whay Deb was cool with everything, did she not love Josh, had someone else stolen her heart, was it going to be an arranged marriage? Details,I need more details.

Overall I thought this story was a good read.I would love to see Deb get her HEA in her own story as well as a follow-up to Josh and Gia..hint-hint! If you’re looking for a romantic story where the good guy craves the “bad girl” Check out Hidden Depths!
